WHAT WE DO
OUR INITIATIVES
The Frederick Douglass Project offers a range of programs and initiatives aimed at empowering Minnesota's underrepresented communities through a multi-pronged approach that includes education, advocacy, and grassroots mobilization efforts.
01
POLICY ADVOCACY
FDP advocates for policies that promote generational wealth, family legacy, and individual responsibility through a variety of efforts:
📃 Developing policy papers and position statements to inform legislators and the public
🤝🏾 Collaborating with like-minded organizations to amplify efforts on key issues
🏛️ Organizing advocacy days at the state Capitol to engage constituents with legislators
02
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
FDP aims to increase civic awareness and participation among MN's underrepresented groups:
📒 Hosting workshops on the history of Frederick Douglass and political advocacy
🇺🇸 Providing training sessions on policy issues such as school choice, economic development, and criminal justice reform
🗳️ Conducting voter education campaigns to improve civic literacy
03
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
FDP seeks to identify and mentor future leaders to carry on the banner of American prosperity for our families and communities by:
🗽 Establishing a mentorship program for young community leaders interested in politics
👔 Providing resources and training for potential candidates for office
🤝🏾 Partnering with national, like-minded organizations for fellowship opportunities.
04
GRASSROOTS MOBILIZATION
FDP is developing a network of active community members to support like-minded candidates and causes in local, state, and federal elections:
📋 Building a database of activists and volunteers for mobilization efforts
🚪 Deploying door-knocking campaigns to engage voters, especially in communities with low voter turnout
🎤 Hosting town halls and forums to discuss critical issues and connect with local leaders
